What is “YG + TW + MA = TH + RP”?
By Mike Krsticevic | March 23, 2008
Some of you may have read the ‘by-line’ at the top of this blog (ie, Your Goal + the Why? + Massive Action = The How + Rapid Progress) and thought one of three things:
- Yes, that makes sense to me; OR
- I see what you’re trying to say but I’m not sure I entirely agree; OR
- what have you been ‘drinking’!?!?
It’s probably time I should come clean and explain myself.
Firstly, prior to completing my Law degree in 1998, I completed a Civil Engineering degree in 1996 and, as you can imagine, the mathematics featured quite prominantly in our course. If I didn’t like maths I doubt I would have survived. Therefore, I like formulas (or formulae if you prefer). They ‘make sense’ to me.
Secondly, when I have a formula to follow I know that if I simply do more or less of each component of the formula I will get more or less of what’s on the ‘other side’ of the equal (=) sign. Simple … isn’t it?
Thirdly, by understanding the components of each part of the formula and knowing what is required to increase or optimise the results for that component, I can focus on each component and/or sub-component separately and ultimately improve my desired outcome on the ‘other side’ of the equal (=) sign.
However, without going into too much detail in this post alone (ie, more detail to come in subsequent posts), the formula I have given is the formula I have learned to be the most effective approach to any worthwhile pursuit in life.
That’s all for now … but take another good look at the byline formula before you go.
YG (Your Goal) + TW (The Why) + MA (Massive Action) = TH (The How) + RP (Rapid Progress)
What do you think it means? Do you agree? If not, why not? If so, why?
I look forward to your comments.
